Finao Album Design Service

Your time is valuable and at a premium. Provide beautiful albums for your customers without the extra investment in designing layouts, negotiating revisions, or buying and learning new software. Send us your images, and we’ll do the rest. Enjoy easy online communication and review with our designer, or have us work directly with your client to create the album they’ll love.

Album Design service is available for the ONE™, ArtONE™, MUSE™, and playBOOK™ flush mount albums.

CHOICE

Choose from six attractive design styles suitable for weddings, boudoir, families, mitzvahs, seniors, and more. Check our design styles page for sample spreads in each of the available styles. *

EASE

Proofing and revisions are stress-free. We can email the links for online layout review to you or your client. Fewer revision sessions let you spend more time doing what you love.

SPEED

Expect a 3-5 business day turnaround time for each layout revision. You may experience longer waits for complex, custom orders or during the busy holiday season, but we'll do our best! **

PRECISION

Enjoy up to three opportunities to review your layout and request changes (although 1-2 is common). We make sure you and your client get the album you want.

VALUE

Many design services charge by the spread. We include up to 32 spreads (64 sides) for the same price so that you can confidently factor the cost of $100 into your package pricing. *

GUIDELINES:

$100 for a professional, US-based album design is a great price with lots of flexibility; we offer it as a benefit to you. Realistically, this deal can't include every possibility. We provide the service with these select styles, sizes, and revisions only. If you have different needs for a design project, we can still help. Contact us for a custom design quote.

Like the "Coffee Will Be Hot" warnings, we want to be clear to avoid any disappointment.

TIP: Number of Images

Our guidelines for how many images to submit:

10 spreads 50-60 images
15 spreads 75-90 images
20 spreads 100-120 images
25 spreads 100-120 images
30 spreads 125-180 images
35 spreads 175-210 images
40 spreads 200-240 images
45 spreads 225-270 images
50 spreads 250-300 images

More than the suggested number will result in a design with smaller images and a 'busier' feeling. The lower end of the recommended range will allow a design that has a roomier, open feel with larger, featured photos. The ranges represent an average of 2.5 to 3 images per side. Album size will be a factor to consider when choosing more or fewer images.

How to use our Design Service

Every photographer has their own business style, so we offer two ways to order design service:

A I WANT TO ORDER DESIGN SERVICE AND MY ALBUM TOGETHER

You must know how many spreads you want to use this method.

Instructions

Order one of our flush mount albums: ONE, artONE, MUSE, or playBOOK

1. Select the size and orientation of your future album.

2. Choose Design Service: "Yes, order design service now."

3. Add contact information for who will review and approve the album design. This can be you or your customer.

4. Choose a design layout style.

5. Complete the rest of your album order choices as usual.

Upload your image files

6. Upload your image files using FTP or the image uploader under "My Account". Upload hi-res (300 PPI) JPG images. To help us find the images for your album, please put them in a folder labeled with your order number or the reference text you provided with the order, e.g., "Bob and Ava 2021".

7. Relax while we get to work.

Review and approve your design

8. Review your design. Within a couple of days, you or your customer will receive an email with a link to review your album design online.

9. Approve your design. Complete your revision requests and give us the final approval. We will only send your album to print when you're happy with the final layout.

Instructions

Order design service

1. Select the size, orientation, and product model of your future album.

2. Add contact information for who will review and approve the album design. This can be you or your customer.

3. Choose a design layout style.

4. Indicate the minimum and maximum leaf count range, and whether to start on the left or right.

Upload your image files

5. Upload your image files using FTP or the image uploader under "My Account". Upload hi-res (300 PPI) JPG images. To help us find the images for your album, please put them in a folder labeled with your order number or the reference text you provided, e.g. "Bob and Ava 2021".

6. Relax while we get to work.

Review and approve your design

7. Review your design. Within a couple of days, you or your customer will receive an email with a link to review your album design online.

8. Approve your design. Complete your revision requests and give us the final approval. We will only send your album to print when you're happy with the final layout.

Order your album

9. Order your album as usual, choosing Design Service: “Yes, design is already complete”. Your design spreads will be available in your account image uploads in a folder named with the design service order number.

Design Service is available with any of our flush mount albums: ONE, artONE, MUSE or playBOOK.

Please review our design layout styles page to see sample spreads in each of the available styles.

* Design service fee of $100 applies to any of the standard design styles we offer. Customization beyond the standard design styles will incur an additional cost.

  • Review our Album Design guide and the instructions, above, for the two Design Service ordering methods.
  • Choose one of our two order methods, and complete the appropriate album or Design Service order form.

  • At the end of the album or Design Service order form, upload your hi-res (300 PPI) JPG images. When your design is complete, your page spreads will be available in your profile.
  • All images should be final and print ready - already retouched if needed.
  • Upload only images you would like included in your design. Image culling is not included with the design service.
  • Please name the image folder with your order number.
  • After you attach your photos or spreads, sit back and relax while we get to work.

  • We make proofing and adjusting easy. Within 3-5 days, you or your customer will receive an email with a link to review your album design.
  • At this point, you can approve the design or request changes.
  • It's easy to add comments, questions, or change requests directly to the draft.
  • After each set of revisions, we will provide an updated proof within 3-5 business days.
  • Designs must be finalized and approved within 90 days of the first layout.

  • Complete your revisions and give us the final approval. We only send your album to print when you're happy with what we've designed, and you approve the layout.

The Design Service price includes three opportunities to review your layout and request revisions.
