Bookbound Art albums feature two distinct styles of pages: a fixed page style and a standard (loose) page style, as well as a few specialty page options. All Bookbound Art page styles have their base pages permanently bound into the album.
The Fixed Page Style is a clean page style that makes self-assembly easy and can also be used in conjunction with Finao's print & assembly services. Albums are delivered with the mats already adhered to the base page. The edges are flush to the cover for a sleek, modern appearance. On each page, the mat is left open at the top so you can easily insert prints for quick assembly.
Flush mount style pages are created by ordering a BLANK MAT WITH ADHESIVE (mat upgrade).
With the Fixed Page Style, mats will go all the way to the edge of the base page.
Creating "omni" prints via software allows you to print out each page as one print that slips easily from the top of each page and lines up with the mat openings.
Flush mount style pages are created by ordering a blank mat with adhesive. This mat will come with repositionable adhesive already adhered to the face of the mat AND the whole mat will already be fixed to the base page. Simply peel off the adhesive on the top of the mat and adhere your print like you would any self-mount album. You MUST order this type of mat if you plan to mount a flush style print.
The Standard Page Style is the Seldex DIY, self-assembly book. It saves a little on cost, keeps you totally in control, and there are no requirements to use any specific software. The base pages in this style have finished metal corners to aid in page turning and protect from wear. This classic look provides both quality and value.
Unlike the Fixed Page Style, mats ARE NOT fixed onto the base pages when shipped. They ship separate with pre-placed adhesive strips on the back. Assembly is quick and simple: tape the images to the back of the mat opening, peel the release tape from the adhesive and place the mat on the base page between the page corners.
Flush mount style pages are created by ordering a BLANK MAT WITH ADHESIVE (mat upgrade). With the Standard Style, the mat will not align flush with the base page due to the metal protective corners.
The Standard Page Style is not available on Slimline Bookbound Art albums.
PRO TIP: BEFORE YOU ADHERE THAT MAT, it's easier to mount your print to the front of your mat FIRST by lying the mat on any flat surface and mounting the print as you would any other print. Since the mat is separate from the album you can easily trim the print to the exact mat size should this be necessary. Once you have completed the print mounting, then peel the release tape from the back of the mat and place it in the album. (See video example on the Print & Assembly page.)
